8B Expands Scan-to-Pay Coverage in Asia
8B is adding Mongolia, Laos and Cambodia to its Scan-to-Pay coverage, alongside Vietnam and the Philippines. The expansion gives banks, wallets and superapps access to supported local QR payment networks across five Asian markets through one API.

Three new markets
Cambodia — KHQR and Bakong
Bakong processed approximately 1.3 billion transactions in 2025. The market overview also reports approximately 4.5 million merchants and acceptance points across the KHQR/Bakong ecosystem.
Mongolia — QPay
QPay recorded approximately 250 million transactions in 2025, with around 250,000 merchants and acceptance points reported in the market overview.
Laos — Lao QR
Laos adds another destination to 8B’s Southeast Asian coverage. Comparable transaction and acceptance figures were not published in the market overview.
Transaction and acceptance figures describe the local ecosystems and do not represent the number of merchants accessible through 8B.
Broader coverage within an existing app
The additions complement VietQR in Vietnam and QR Ph in the Philippines, giving participating institutions more destinations where their customers can pay through a familiar app.
8B provides the connections to supported local acceptance networks, alongside payment routing, FX and settlement arrangements. Coverage depends on the enabled schemes, merchants and transaction types in each market.
