Kazakhstan Launches Unified National QR System — 8B.world to Enable First Cross-Border Payments Through Local Banks
Kazakhstan has officially launched its unified national QR payment system — an essential upgrade to the country’s real-time payments infrastructure and a milestone that positions it among the world’s most forward-looking digital economies. Presented at the Finance Congress in Almaty by the National Bank of Kazakhstan and the National Payment Corporation, the system introduces a single national QR standard that simplifies payment acceptance for merchants and improves interoperability across all banks. 8B, a PSP rooted in Central Asia and now scaling globally, confirms that it will deliver the first cross-border transactions on Kazakhstan’s new QR rail in close partnership with leading local banks.

A Unified QR for the Country — and Soon, for the Region
Kazakhstan’s newly launched QR system introduces:
- One QR code accepted by every participating bank
- One terminal for all merchants — reducing hardware, cost, and operational friction
- One national standard, designed for instant, secure, real-time payments
As of late 2025, several major banks have already connected to the QR framework, with full-scale rollout underway.
With this foundation in place, 8B.world will activate cross-border QR payments, enabling merchants and consumers to transact regionally with the same ease and reliability as domestic QR purchases.
8B.world Adds the Global Layer
8B.world integrates national QR and real-time domestic systems into a single cross-border platform, enabling global businesses to accept and send payments via trusted local rails.
Kazakhstan’s national QR system will join 8B.world’s growing network of world-leading domestic systems, including:
- ELQR (Kyrgyzstan)
- QR PH (Philippines)
- QRIS (Indonesia)
- CoDi (Mexico)
- Additional QR and instant-payment systems across the Caucasus & Central Asia region and beyond.
Together, these create a global matrix of local rails, all accessible through one standardized API.
Quote from 8B.world
“Kazakhstan has built one of the smartest national QR systems of the decade.
Our goal at 8B.world is to take this experience global — so that a single QR scan on any merchant page can come from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, or any other market.
Any user, in any country, should be able to pay for digital goods across borders using their own national QR system.
8B.world is connecting these rails into one intelligent cross-border network — where every QR code speaks the same language.”

The Global Strategy: Local Trust, Global Reach
8B.world is expanding from its Central Asian roots toward a broader mission:
to make the world’s national QR and real-time payment systems work seamlessly across borders.
This mission is enabled by:
- AI-driven smart routing
- ESG-aligned infrastructure, including paperless onboarding and energy-efficient payment rails
- Fully compliant and transparent FX flows
- One unified interface for PSPs, enterprises, and digital platforms
As cross-border travel, e-commerce, and remittances grow across Central Asia and the Asia-Pacific region, the ability to pay abroad using familiar domestic QR apps will become a defining advantage for both consumers and merchants.
